What is Block Training?

Block Training is the original BCF program, running since 2008. High-energy functional strength training in a larger group format, capped at 10 clients per session so every coach has eyes and ears on every client. Block Training is not individualized for each person, but rather a workout of the day for the entire group, built on a progressive overload model that changes week by week.

What is Youth Strength and Conditioning at BCF?

Youth Strength and Conditioning is our athletic development program. We train athletes of every level: middle school, high school, college, and Olympic hopefuls. Programs are built around the demands of the sport and the athlete’s stage of development. Same CSCS-aligned standard we use with our adult members.

How is BCF different from a regular gym?

Three things. First, we cap membership at 130 so coaching quality stays high. Second, every program is individualized, not pulled from a template. Third, our average member trains with us for 4 years, which means what we do actually works for the long haul. Black Clover Fitness is not a big-box gym and not a class-of-the-day boutique. It is a coaching studio.

Who are the BCF trainers?

Three coaches run the floor at Black Clover Fitness. Owner Trevor Davis is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with 20+ years of coaching experience. Connor Tackett is our Morning Lead Trainer, CSCS and ACE-certified. Jordan Whaley is our Afternoon Lead Trainer with a strength and conditioning specialty. Every coach is nationally certified.

30 minutes with a BCF coach. We talk through your training history, where you are now, and what a program built for you would look like. No pressure, no pitch. You walk out either ready to start or ready to think about it.

What should I expect in my first session at BCF?

Your first session is a working assessment. We move through key movement patterns, see where your body is right now, and start the first block of your program. Sessions run 45 to 60 minutes. You will work, but the load is matched to where you are.
