Black Clover Fitness is a strength training studio at 3821 N. 167th Court, Suite 130/135, near 168th and Maple in West Omaha. Block Training is the original program. Running since 2008.

Small group, high energy, real coaching. Every client follows the same workout for the day, weights adjusted to where each person is. Sessions are 45 minutes.

What is Block Training?

Block Training at BCF is functional strength coaching in a group capped at up to 10 clients per session. The entire group trains the same workout, built by the BCF coaching team that week. Weights and loads are adjusted individually based on each client’s ability.

The cap exists so coaches have eyes and ears on everyone in the room. At 10 clients, they do.

How it works

Programming is built weekly. The BCF coaching team designs each week’s programming around a specific training theme: sets, reps, rest periods, and tempo all rotate on a deliberate schedule. Block Training follows a progressive overload model, so the programming gets harder over time without becoming repetitive.

85% of every session is functional resistance training. That’s the formula behind the program’s 17-year run and the results members see. Warm-up, cool-down, and movement prep make up the rest.

Sessions run 45 minutes. The work-to-time ratio is high. You show up, you work, you’re done.

Weights are individualized. Everyone follows the same movement pattern for the day. Your load is based on where you are, not where someone else is. A 60-year-old and a 25-year-old can train in the same session with appropriate intensity for each.

Fully modifiable. Past injuries, movement limitations, experience level — all of it gets accommodated. Coaches adjust the movement or the load. The workout changes to fit you.

Who is it for?

Block Training members range from beginners looking for structure to experienced athletes who want coached, progressive programming without the overhead of individualized design.

Most are adults 40 to 70 who want consistent, professional strength coaching in a group that keeps them accountable. They want to show up, do good work, and leave knowing it was worth the hour.

Common questions about Block Training at BCF

How is Block Training different from Semi-Private Personal Training at BCF?

In Block Training, the whole group follows the same workout for the day with loads adjusted per person. In Semi-Private Personal Training, every member follows a fully individualized program written specifically for them. Block Training is a coached group experience. Semi-Private Personal Training is individual-level attention in a small-group setting capped at 5 clients per coach. Both programs are coached, capped, and built on progressive programming.

How is Block Training different from a group fitness class?

Group fitness classes are run by an instructor calling a workout. Block Training at BCF is run by a coach managing load, form, and progression for up to 10 specific people. The BCF coaching team designs weekly programming on a progressive overload model — sessions build on each other. That’s different from a new workout every day with no tracking and no load management per person.

What does a typical Block Training session look like?

You warm up, then move through the day’s workout with the group. The coach is on the floor the entire time, watching form, cueing technique, and adjusting loads as needed. Sessions are 45 minutes. You’ll work from the first minute to the last.

How long has Block Training been at BCF?

Since 2008. It’s the original Black Clover Fitness program. The weekly programming model, the 10-client cap, and the emphasis on functional resistance training have been in place for 17+ years.

Is Block Training right for beginners?

Yes. The workout is modifiable for any experience level, past injury, or movement limitation. Coaches adjust loads and movements to fit where you are right now. Many BCF members start with Block Training to build consistency and foundational strength.
